The Registered Nurse also known as an RN plays a vital role on every healthcare team across all of the various healthcare fields.

The RN is the next step in a nurse's journey.  Many Certified Nursing Assist and LPN’S have continued their educational journey to become RN’S.  This shows the dedication that our healthcare workers have to continue their great love of helping others.  The Registered Nurse does important work in Hospitals, Long Term Care facilities, Assisted living, Clinics, Schools, Doctors' offices, to list a few.

The Registered Nurse has many different specialties they can chose from; the following are just a few of the more common specialty fields that the Registered Nurses work in.  Pediatric Nurses work with children from birth to up to 21 years of age.  Critical Care Nurses work in Intensive care units trauma units and medical flights.  Operating Room Nurses, work in Surgical prep units, operation rooms, and post-surgery recovery units.  Charge Nurse, or Nursing Supervisor are responsible for overseeing patient care and scheduling producers.  These are just a few of the many fields that the Registered Nurse can choose once they complete their schooling.

In 2020 the Median salary for an RN was $75,330 per year.  The average hourly rate is $36.22.  The Covid-19 pandemic has seen an increase in Registered nurse salary.  For RN’S willing to work on Covid Units for, or willing to take a travel assignment to a Covid hotspot have seen hourly rates up to $130.  We do expect for the RN’S salary to keep increasing over time.
