The Licensed Practical Nurse also known as an LPN is very important to the day-to-day operation of healthcare settings ranging from Long Term Care Facilities, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Doctors Offices, Adult Daycare Centers, Schools, Home Care, and many more. LPN’s are known for their outstanding med pass ability. the med pass plays a critical role in many healthcare setting that Licensed Partial Nurses works in. this is especially true in Long-Term Care, and Assisted living facilities across the US. Without the LPN’S many residents would not be able to take their medication every day as needed. The LPN’s are also responsible for performing treatment on their residents on an everyday basis.  
Currently, there are just over 700,000 Licensed Practical Nurses practicing in the US. Due to the pending retirement of the Baby Boomers, the number of needed LPN’s is expected to increase by over 100,000 by 2024. This is a great field to be in as the need for care is only going to grow over the next decade or more.  
The Average Salary for an LPN in 2020 was $50,090 across the US. With an average hourly pay rate of $24. During the recent COIVD Pandemic, LPN’S have been able to earn up to $60 an hour working on COVID units. This pay is driven by the extreme staffing shortage being felt across the healthcare industry as a whole.
