The Home Health Aide plays a major role in helping the elderly stay in their own home so they do not have to be admitted into either an Assisted Living Facility or Long-term Care facility.

The Home Health Aide also known as an HHA.  The Home Health Aide plays a major role in helping the elderly stay in their own home so they do not have to be admitted into either an Assisted Living Facility or Long-term Care facility.  The HHA primary assist with bathing, dressing, shopping for groceries, meal preparation, and light housekeeping for their clients.  In some states the HHA are able to pass medication, either in a home setting, or at an Assisted living facility.  They first must take and pass a course on the medication pass.    

The Home Health Aide job openings are projected to grow at a faster pace than many other jobs.  This is in part to the aging population and their desire to stay in their own home for as long as they can.  Currently there are 3.4 million Home Health Aides in the US.  

The average salary of a Home Health Aide is $28,184 a year or $13.55 an hour.  With the elderly wanting to stay at home more and more we project that the HHA salary with increase as well.
